I have an obsession with me. Even my faith walk is a focus on me, What I am able to do, what I have failed to do. Whether or not I am maturing in my walk with God, how much I am accomplishing. What great feats have I accomplished for God?
More than those positive things, I am totally obsessed with my own failures. My stumbles, my staggers, my falters and stutters. The big and the small, they are forever and always in the forefront of my vision. God forgive me. My eyes focus on me as if the core of my faith rests on me! As if my performance today is the foundation of my spiritual life.
Help me to take my eyes off of myself and put them on you. Help me to cultivate the discipline required to set my heart and affections on Christ. Let me learn what it is to love the Lord my God with all my heart and all my mind and all my soul and all my strength. I wish to be obsessed, just not with me.
Let me see Jesus. Be my everything.

7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ...
